Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground Lamb or Beef
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
- 8–10 Taco Shells
- 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled (optional)
- 1 cup Sliced Tomatoes (optional)
- 1/2 cup Chopped Red Onion (optional)
- Fresh Parsley or Mint (for garnish)
- Lemon Wedges (for serving)
- Sliced Jalapeños (for serving)
Instructions
- Begin your culinary journey by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic ahead of time. Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat. If using taco shells, prepare them according to package instructions.
- Add the ground lamb or beef to the preheated skillet. Brown the meat while breaking it apart with a spoon. After about 5 minutes, introduce the chopped onion and minced garlic. Continue to cook until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent.
- Stir in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, allowing the spices to bloom in the hot pan for about a minute.
- Once your meat is well-cooked, it’s time to assemble your tacos! Take your recently heated taco shells, spoon in a generous portion of the meat mixture, and top with tzatziki sauce, sliced tomatoes, crumbled feta, and any additional garnishes.
- Serve immediately while the filling is hot, inviting your friends and family to dig in!
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with lentils and mushrooms. Serve alongside a Greek salad for a complete meal.
