Description
A fun, nutritious treat that satisfies cravings for sweets without the guilt, perfect for sharing at picnics or enjoying during family movie nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- ½ cup apple juice or cider
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons gelatin powder
- 1–2 teaspoons sour candy powder (like citric acid)
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Start by gathering all your ingredients and tools. You’ll need a saucepan, silicone gummy molds, and a whisk for mixing.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the applesauce and apple juice. Stir gently until they’re warm but not boiling.
- Slowly whisk in the gelatin powder until it’s fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- If using honey or maple syrup, stir it in next, followed by the pinch of salt.
- Once everything is mixed thoroughly, add in your sour candy powder, adjusting to taste.
- Pour the mix into your silicone molds, filling them gently but completely.
- Refrigerate for approximately 1-2 hours until they’re fully set.
- To remove them, simply pop the gummies out of the molds—a little twist often helps!
Notes
Store your gummies in an airtight container in the fridge. They will typically last around two weeks. Adjust sweetness to balance tartness as needed.
