- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Additional sugar and cinnamon for coating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your mini donut pan with non-stick spray. Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for the best mixing.
- Combine all your dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Whisk together in a separate bowl the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Gradually add your dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fill each donut cavity halfway with batter and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool slightly, then toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve immediately on a platter or arrange them for presentation.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute the egg with a flax egg and use a vegan buttermilk alternative.
