- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
- Combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl, stirring well until fully incorporated.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, then gently fold these dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before lifting out using the parchment paper and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares before serving.
Notes
