- 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
- 4 medium potatoes, cubed
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by washing and chopping the cabbage, dicing the onion, cubing the potatoes, and mincing the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for about 30 seconds.
- Add diced onions, stirring occasionally for around 5 minutes until translucent.
- Incorporate minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for another minute.
- Stir in turmeric powder, followed by chopped cabbage and cubed potatoes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Cover the pan and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the vegetables soften.
- Remove from heat, taste and adjust seasonings if necessary, and serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
Notes
For extra warmth, add red pepper flakes or chili for spice. Feel free to include other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
