Description
A rich and creamy dip inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich, perfect for cozy gatherings or game day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (green or yellow)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnishes: chopped parsley or green onions
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While that warms up, dice your onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat before adding the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until they’re tender, then mix in the minced garlic, cooking for an additional minute.
- Next, add the cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the cream cheese is fully melted and combined. Finally, fold in the provolone and mozzarella cheese until everything is melted and creamy.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and smooth it out evenly. If desired, top with more shredded cheese for an extra cheesy finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden. Serve immediately while the dip is still warm.
Notes
For a spicy kick, try adding jalapeños or red pepper flakes. This dip is also great served in a hollowed-out bread bowl.
