Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled

  2. Whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the cold, cubed butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled sausage to the flour mixture, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Pour in the milk and mix until just combined; do not overwork the dough.
