- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Mix the pumpkin puree, milk, and egg in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently just until combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the circle into wedges and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with a little milk or cream.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with the spiced maple glaze.
