Description
A vibrant and nutritious dish featuring tender bok choy, infused with the bold flavors of sesame and ginger.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound bok choy
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by washing the bok choy thoroughly to remove any grit. Cut each head in half lengthwise, ensuring the leaves remain intact. Mince the garlic and grate the fresh ginger.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing them until fragrant—about 1-2 minutes.
- Add the bok choy, cut side down, and pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar. Stir occasionally, cooking until the bok choy wilts but still retains its crunch, around 5-7 minutes.
- Once the bok choy is cooked to your liking, remove it from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating red pepper flakes for spice or other vegetables for texture. Serve with jasmine rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
