  • 2 cans (15 oz each) of pinto beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) of black beans
  • 1 cup of diced bacon
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Instructions

  • Rinse and drain the canned pinto and black beans.
  • In a skillet, cook your diced bacon until it’s beautifully crisp.
  • Toss the diced onion into the same skillet and sauté until soft. Add the garlic and cook for about a minute more.
  • In your slow cooker, mix together the rinsed beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onion, and garlic.
  • Pour in the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and sprinkle the chili powder. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well coated.
  • Cover and let it cook on low for 6–8 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with your choice of garnishes.
