2 cans (15 oz each) of pinto beans
1 can (15 oz) of black beans
1 cup of diced bacon
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Rinse and drain the canned pinto and black beans.
In a skillet, cook your diced bacon until it’s beautifully crisp.
Toss the diced onion into the same skillet and sauté until soft. Add the garlic and cook for about a minute more.
In your slow cooker, mix together the rinsed beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onion, and garlic.
Pour in the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and sprinkle the chili powder. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well coated.
Cover and let it cook on low for 6–8 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with your choice of garnishes.
